This incredible project was undertaken by WRR-UK for the joint venture between BL Harbert and Sir Robert McAlpine on behalf of the U.S. Government to provide a new embassy building right in the heart of the Nine Elms district. This particularly challenging project was designed to meet American building standards, and as such WRR-UK pioneered the use of Cafco 400, a cementitious spray system never before used in U.K. construction.

WRR-UK worked closely with Promat to produce weekly inspection regimes to monitor density and Q.A. processes, providing an extensive auditing trail to ensure the steel structure which totalled over 50,000m2 achieved the required structural fire protection.

The fortress like building is the pinnacle of enhanced fire protection, and was a fantastic example of how we thrive under the most difficult conditions to meet the most technically challenging requirements.
